Studio Tropik Original Priming Water Review
Hi all! Lately I'm interested in setting spray products, cosmetic product that help preserve applied make-up for long periods of time. There is many options of setting spray in the market but I decided to bought Studio Tropik Priming Water which locally made in Indonesia.
Studio Tropik Priming Water as its named basicly is priming water, but I have received some suggestion that this priming water could be used for setting spray too.
Product Overview
Studio Tropik Priming Water has 2 variants: Studio Tropik Original Priming Water (for normal to oily skin) and Studio Tropik Flawless Priming Water (for normal to dry skin). It has normal size (150ml) and travel size (30ml). Since I have normal to oily skin, I bought the Original with travel size one.
Packaging
Studio Tropik Original Priming Water travel size come with white colored nozzle spray plastic bottle.
Ingredients
Aqua, Glycerin, Propylene glycol, Rosa centifolia flower water, 1,2-Hexanediol, Disodium EDTA, Aloe barbadensis gel, Xanthan gum, Quaternium-15, PEG-40 hydrogenated castor oil, Fragrance, Citric acid.
How to use
I received an explanation card how to use this primer when purchasing this priming water online. Unfortunately I forgot to take some pictures about it. But this whats written:
As a primer:
Spray to face as primer before make-up (before foundation and powder)
For fix:
As mixing medium so that contour / eyeshadow / foundation / glitter applies better with more pigmentation. Can be sprayed to brush / sponges to help blending make-up into the skin.
For refresh:
Spray anytime, anywhere as refreshing skincare.
How I use: I use this priming water as primer before make-up, and spray once again after makeup as setting spray and refresh.
Texture, Fragrance
Studio Tropik Original Priming Water doesn't have any color and not sticky, feels like water. I can smell rose fragrant slightly which makes me feels calm yet refresh while using this priming water. I'm not a fans of fragrance product, but it smelled okay for me.
Result
After several times trying this priming water, I conclude that Studio Tropik Original Priming Water didn't mattifying my face as primer. But it makes me easier to apply bbcream or foundation.
As setting spray, it surprisingly work well for me, it could help preserve my makeup around 6-8 hours. My bb cream still okay, not melt yet patchy after 6 - 8 hours, depend on the weather. (not outdoor / sport activities).
I'm a little bit disappointed with their nozzle though. The nozzle does not produce smooth spray result so I got a lot of droplets on my face. I need took some time waiting for my skin absorbs the priming water, but it's no big deal for me
